Matcha has obviously become really popular again in recent years but did you know that the technique of stone-grinding green tea leaves into a powder can also be used with other types of tea like black tea or roasted green tea?

These tea powders are fantastic for using in lattes, smoothies, cocktails & desserts, or on their own in a traditional matcha style.

We have a collection of three Japanese stone-ground tea powders: Green tea powder (Matcha), Black tea powder (Ground Kocha) and Roasted green tea powder (Ground Hojicha).

Japanese black tea or Kocha is extremely rare outside of Japan and so our Ground Kocha Powder has been sourced just for you.

When tea leaves are ground into a powder in this way and consumed whole, you get a far greater amount of caffeine & nutrients than when steeping the leaves in regular tea. We find a teaspoon of High-grade Matcha or Ground Kocha equivalent to about half a shot of coffee.

Tea powders also deliver high quantities of L-theanine, an amino acid that calms the mind while increasing alertness.

The combination of L-theanine and caffeine is often used in Nootropics. Ground teas provide this combination in it’s natural, most bio-available state.

All of our stone-ground ground tea powders are produced from 100% tea leaves, unlike most tea powders or extracts available elsewhere.

Kocha Powder is black tea that’s stone-ground in the same traditional Japanese stone mills used to make Matcha. It has a full-bodied, malty aroma with sweet, nutty undertones and works well in lattes, shakes and sweets.
